Hypnotize the cat itch out of me

bridge

You know you are back home in sunny Hull when you hear some rough looking bird tell her fella…” so ‘e ‘it ‘er … then ‘e took ‘er valium off ‘er … blah blah”…

Since getting back from the big trip I have spent a lot of time trying to re-adjust to the British culture so I watched Wimbledon and saw a brave Scot…I mean Brit go out in the semis. I had some gigs in lovely Lancashire and Garstang, the latter in a proper English pub next to a canal with boats and fishermen. It gave me a chance to be re-united with two welsh girls from my travels. Heather with the unshaved thighs, appeared on the Jay Z introduction montage on the big screen at Glastonbury saying… “Jay Z and Glastonbury is like Jam and Marmite”…class. I played the Riversway festival and saw a lot of people in Lycra, a steam train and was proper blown away by Prestons Mobius Loop..sounding something like a mix of Coral, Gomez, Eminem and Ska and Dan Wild a talented, young, voice-angel geezer with finger pickingtasticness.

I went over the Humber bridge and ate luverly curry with 10mm Dowel and Lisa (old work chums) Ended up negotiating to record some vocals in a squash court which belongs to mate Eugene. It turned out spooky!

I played a gig at Zest cafe bar which was my first homecoming show in Hull at the very cool Kick out the jams night. Unfortunately the temporary venue, is like playing inside a concrete box. It was one of those where the louder yer play, the louder some people talk. At least I had angel beast Channy accompanying on backing and guitar. Thanks to legendary Smudge who jumped behind the mic aswell to shake a tub of rice and do some vox in a bee gees style. Some very very nice people came from different places to see me…sorry about the conditions…i luv you very much yer buggers.

Since being back I have recorded 5 live acoustic tracks for release later on. I will stick a sampler up for yer to hear asap. I fly back to Japan on 4th Oct for another tour and to begin work composing for a Contemporary Dance project in Tokyo which should be interesting.

I went to London for a bit of a mooch last weekend to try and get a gig. Had a great yarn with a chap running a stall on Spittalfields market. I went to meet the Devon crew and played at a Birthday party next to an Idyllic Estuary at Exeter in the sunshine with a big BBQ. Joy. The moon came up and I swang on a swing and camped in a tent. Then in gratitude for playing, Mark and Mel treated me to a go at wakeboarding. I was hardly championship standard. Spent a lot of time SAT in the water. When I eventually got on my feet it was a bit good.

Next week I am gonna be getting hypnotized by me mate James’ housemate Ali. He reckons he can cure me of my cat allergy. I went round to the house the other day for a practice and I kept being attacked by Ali’s kitten. I left wheezing and itching and with strange lumps on my back. Nice. Through the power of hypnotism that can be sorted apparently. Hopefully he wont twist up my mindframe. I got enough issues as it is. Ftang ftang ole biscuit barrel.

I will be playing at the Golden Fleece in Nottingham soon and for the first time perhaps it might be a full band??!!

The worm follows the patter of rain

The bird waits to swallow up the worm

Snap that beak off and a surge of worms….

an excess of worms….

willl come to be…

living comfortably.
